Question 1: What is the NEMA rating? Answer 1: Only model G has an IP-54 rating and the kit must be
installed in house. All other models the lowest rating Nema 1.
Question 2: What is CSI file #? Answer 2: CSA file # LR25144
Question 3: What humidity level exposure is acceptable? Answer 3: Information not available
Question 4: Do I need to vent the switch? Answer 4:All gas switches must be vented except for the model
G.
Question 5: Can I connect the high/Low switch to the same gas line? Answer 5: Yes
Question 6: What size line or fittings do I use? Answer 6: Fittings air switches any 1/8” NPT fitting. Line sizes
review the local codes for this information.
Question 7: Can switch be mounted outside exposed to rain, snow, etc? Answer 7: We don’t recommend outside usage for our switches
since they are only rating at Nema 1. The model G with IP-54 kit is the only switch we
recommend for outside use.
Question 8: Is this switch “CE” approved? Answer 8: The model G has a CE approved version. The only
difference from our standard UL approved unit is that the orifice hole is larger. No other
model are CE approve.
Question 9: Are thermocouple/thermistors available for purchase? Answer 9: Yes. We do have a few available for sale. We don’t
have too many choices. If they purchased a control from us, we can help, but if they are just
looking for sensors, then no. Our sensors are specially designed for our controls.
Question 10: .Where does the HLGP-A pipe
into the gas train? Between the regulator and the gas valve? After the gas valve? Should it monitor
continuous pressure in order for it to operate? Answer 10: The high
side measures the input gas pressure to the gas train the low pressure side. Measure
the pressure after the safety shut off and regulator. The regulator job is to
step the pressure down the level need for the burner.
Question 11: Do you/can you plug up any of the 2 ports on the SMD or do you
leave them open? Answer 11:All un-used port for the air pressure switches must be
left open to the atmosphere. The air must exit from any open ports, therefore, they should
never be plugged.
Question 12: Does the HLGP-A replace the old Chicago Safety switch
HLGP-AM1? Answer 12: Yes, it’s a direct replacement.
Question 13: Is a thermistor probe longer than 20 feet available? If so, how
would it affect my temperature sensing? The book only shows 10 & 20 feet
available? Answer 13: No. Additional wire can be added. This is a 10K sensor
adding 1-2K of wiring will only add a few degrees.
