Branding For the Future

As you may have heard by now, in early 2016, A.J. Antunes & Co. officially rebranded as Antunes, positioning our company for strategic growth.

Company CEO Glenn Bullock had this to say about the rebrand: “For more than 60 years, our company has built a reputation for innovative products, industry-leading expertise and trusted, personal service. As we look ahead to the next 60 years and beyond, we’ve taken a moment to step back and reflect on who we are and what we do — and that’s why we’ve decided to refresh and clarify our brand identity going forward.”

As part of this effort, we are eliminating the names of our longtime sub-brands, ROUNDUP® and VIZION™, and these products will now be grouped into cooking solutions and filtration solutions categories, respectively. Despite the change in name, the quality manufacturing and reliability that have become associated with those names over the years has not and will not change at all. And, our new tagline speaks directly to that reliability and quality: Expect Success.

You may have noticed our new logo and tagline in use already on our website, advertising and at our NRA booth. Be on the lookout for more Antunes-specific branding to come.

Our promise to you is that these changes will do nothing to disrupt — and everything possible to strengthen — our relationship and continue to drive success for you and your operations.

Antunes Provides Toasting Solution to Large Hamburger Chain

One of the nation's largest hamburger chains, with more than 2,200 restaurants, identified a need to change toaster suppliers — spurred by new menu developments and operational issues.

In addtion to facilitating new menu items, the chain had several objectives they were looking to achieve through a new toasting solution: improved reliability, reduced cost for the unit and its replacement parts and a smaller footprint.

Custom solutions and responsive problem solving earned us the business, and we began working on a modified toaster to meet the chain’s specific needs. Read more in this customer case study.


The Vertical Contact Toaster by Antunes

Antunes’ Vertical Contact Toaster (VCT) is used by some of the largest QSR chains in the industry and helps operators deliver a consistently fresh, great-tasting product that is toasted on-demand. An increased capacity leads to shorter wait times, and the unit’s space-efficient design makes it a perfect fit in crowded commercial kitchen environments.

Insights from NRA 2016

Much like years past, last month’s NRA Show in Chicago did not disappoint. Exhibitors and attendees alike experienced the latest in equipment and food trends.

But this year, there seemed to be an unofficial theme — food made fresh and to order.

Hardly a fleeting trend, consumers are driving demand for consistently fresh foods, made the way they want them. Food and equipment manufacturers were locked in on this subject and in 2016, we continue to see a departure from ‘fast’ and a migration to ‘fresh.’

Not only reflected on the show floor, a majority of the education sessions also mentioned this trend-turned-staple of the foodservice industry.

This likely isn’t news to those familiar with the foodservice industry — nor is it to Antunes. For example, our egg station is currently being used by a number of large QSR chains to provide fresh, cooked-to-order eggs during the growing breakfast daypart.

Antunes understands that any foodservice operation – from fast food to fine dining – can and should be delivering on this demand from consumers. And that’s why we consistently engineer products that help operators deliver fresher food, faster, to their customers.
